It is rightly said keep things private until they are permanent, to ward off the evil eye. However, in the age of social media and public displays of affection, many couples regularly share day-to-day updates, including moments that are deeply private and intimate, on Instagram.
The world was waiting with bated breath for Indian women's cricket star Smriti Mandhana's wedding with her longtime beau, composer Palash Muchhal, which was scheduled to take place on November 23, 2025. The wedding festivities were reportedly in full swing, with celebrations including mehndi, haldi, sangeet, and preparations for the wedding mandap.
However, right before the pheras, the wedding was abruptly called off, which sent shockwaves not just to the cricket fraternity but also among fans.
Soon after, several reports claimed that Palash Muchhal had cheated on Smriti Mandhana just a night before the wedding. Several women shared screenshots of their alleged conversations with the composer on social media, further fuelling the controversy.

Although neither Palash nor Smriti addressed the rumours publicly, a few weeks later, Smriti officially called off the wedding. Palash, on the other hand, alleged that people were maligning his name and tarnishing his image, and even threatened legal action for defamation. However, all of that proved futile as the wedding was cancelled. Smriti has since shifted her focus back to cricket, while Palash has once again found himself embroiled in controversy. The composer is now facing fresh allegations of cheating and fraud.
A couple of months after the wedding was called off, actor-producer Vidnyan Mane, who claimed to have been present at the wedding festivities, made serious allegations on Friday.
Palash Muchhal deletes all posts with Smriti Mandhana, removes SM 18 tattoo
According to Mane, Palash cheated on Smriti and was allegedly caught red-handed with another woman in bed. Following massive criticism and threats of legal action, Palash has now deleted all photos and videos featuring Smriti Mandhana from his Instagram account. These posts were visible until January 24–25, 2026.

Instagram carousel posts featuring Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana together are no longer visible on the music composer's Instagram account. In addition, Palash has also removed a tattoo reading "SM" from his forearm.
One of the now-deleted posts read, "From the very start, you've been my calm in the chaos, my biggest cheerleader, and the most inspiring soul I know—on the field and off it. You've shown me what grace under pressure looks like and what quiet strength truly is. Happiest Birthday Smritzzzzzzzzz."
Another deleted post read, "Happiest birthday to my beautiful girl! You mean everything to me, and I can't imagine my life without you."
A separate post that has since been removed featured the couple posing together during Diwali in 2023. The deleted content also included a video of Smriti Mandhana showcasing her piano skills after learning from Palash.
This, however, is not the first time Palash Muchhal has removed old posts. When the wedding was called off, several memories had remained on his profile earlier, but he had previously deleted the viral proposal video and their World Cup celebration posts. He has also removed his SM tatoo that he inked for his lady love back when women's Team India won the World Cup.

All you need to know about the new cheating allegations against Palash Muchhal
The cheating allegations resurfaced recently after Vidnyan Mane claimed that Palash Muchhal was caught red-handed with another woman. Mane further alleged that the composer was thrashed by Smriti Mandhana's friends. Mane, who has also accused Muchhal of cheating him of ₹40 lakh, told Hindustan Times:
"I was at the wedding celebrations on November 23, 2025, when he was caught red-handed with another woman in bed. Bhayanak scene tha. He was beaten up by Indian female cricketers. The entire family is chindi chor. I thought he would get married and settle in Sangli, but it completely backfired on me."
Responding to the allegations, Palash Muchhal issued a statement on Instagram saying, "A legal notice of defamation of Rs 10 crore has been sent by my lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, to Sangli-based Vidnyan Mane for his false, outrageous, and highly defamatory accusations made with the deliberate intent to malign my reputation and character."
