Kensington Palace quashed Kate Middleton's pregnancy rumors by disputing claims made by her childhood friend, Jessica Hay, who told Australian media that the Duchess is believed to be expecting her second child.

But soon after, Globe magazine came out with an explosive report claiming the Duchess lost the baby in a miscarriage early this month.

The Aug 4 edition of the magazine claims that Middleton woke up feeling unusually sick one morning in early July, which she initially dismissed as morning sickness. But when her condition did not improve, Middleton's doctor was summoned, who said the Duchess of Cambridge was suffering a miscarriage.

Celeb Dirty Laundry, citing sources, reported that Queen Elizabeth was the first royal to be informed about Middleton's miscarriage, and the Queen urged the couple to grieve for the baby, and then move on in life knowing that one day they will have another baby.

Shortly after the alleged miscarriage, Middleton was reportedly asked to take rest for a few days, following which she resumed her royal duties.

Her first assignment post the ordeal was launching the Tour de France with her husband, Prince William, and she seemed to be in the pink of health at the event, which again gave traction to pregnancy rumors.

During the ceremonial start of the Tour de France, Middleton was spotted wearing a long-sleeved, zipped-up dress even though the weather was hot and humid, and E!News hinted that Middleton was trying to hide her growing bump by wearing a loose dress.

Photographs from the event also show Middleton using a clutch to hide her stomach region.

This was followed by Hay's claims about Middleton expecting a sibling for Prince George.

"She has rosy cheeks, she's letting her greys show again, and whenever she's out in public she goes to great lengths to hold something over her tummy…" Hay told Australia's New Day, according to The Hollywood Gossip.

Hay, whom the Palace noted that Middleton has not been in contact for years, also told the publication that she was not alone in thinking that Middleton was pregnant.

"Kate's inner circle are buzzing with the news that she is expecting," Hay said. "I've heard it from several different friends of theirs now and they're saying that they think there's going to be an official announcement in weeks."
