A mystery artist in Pakistan inspired by Wanksy - a British "penis doodler and pothole avenger" - is now adopting his methods to force the city officials to fix the potholes in Islamabad.

In recent days, several Twitter users from Islamabad have shared the images of "penises" drawn over potholes in the city.

Nobody till now knows who drew the penis graffiti on the roads but it is certain that the Pakistani artist seems to have taken his inspiration from the Manchester man known as "Wanksy," who successfully used the tactic to force the local councils to fill the potholes.

The method seemed to have worked in Manchester, where authorities fixed the potholes within 48-hours, but it is yet to be seen if it will any impact on the Pakistani officials.

"I wanted to attract attention to the pothole and make it memorable. Nothing seemed to do this better than a giant comedy phallus. It's also speedy, I don't want to be in the road for a long time. It seems to have become my signature," Wanksy told the Manchester Evening News.

"I just want to make people smile and draw attention to the problem. It seems to be working, judging from the Facebook fan page,"  he added.

Back in June, an artist in the South Indian city of Bengaluru in order to get the attention of the city authorities put a life-size fibre crocodile over a 12-foot-long pothole and painted its surrounding area in green and yellow.

Soon the image of the crocodile sitting over the potholes started making news across the globe and  the city officials were forced to cover the pothole the next day.
