Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are reuniting for the third time for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Padmavati." Joining them in the period film could be "Raman Raghav 2.0" actor Vicky Kaushal and Ankita Lokhande, who is more known for his split with Sushant Singh Rajput than her hit TV show "Pavitra Rishta."

According to a BollywoodLife report, Ankita has got done a new portfolio and was recently spotted stopping by SLB Films' office. Does this mean she has bagged a role in the filmmaker's ambitious next or was it just another meeting? Only time will tell.

"Padmavati" is a love story, in which ruthless ruler Alauddin Khilji loses his heart to Mewar Rani Padmavati. While Deepika will play the titular role, Ranveer will be essay the anti-hero. The script has been shared with both the stars and they are excited about the project.

Vicky is one of actors in the running for the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, the queen's husband. "Vicky has met Bhansali and discussed the project. He is keen to do this film since it is a big opportunity for him. However, things are yet to be finalised and an official announcement in this regard will be made soon," Mid-Day quoted a source as saying.

There was a strong buzz that Ankita had auditioned for Aarfa's role in "Sultan," which eventually went to Anushka Sharma. She had gotten herself a new haircut and was even working out to look fit for the part, but failed to make the cut.

"Padmavati" is expected to hit the screens on Dec. 15, 2017.

Trivia

Apparently, Ranveer wasn't the master director's first choice. Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan were being considered at one point. The former didn't have dates to spare, and the later has sworn not do essay negative parts on screen.
