The nominations list of Padma awards — Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri — has been released.
Eminent personalities in the field of arts, literature, medicine, sports, education, social work, public affairs, civil service, trade, industry, science and engineering are to be honoured with the Padma awards for their contributions to society.
The Ministry of Home Affairs had earlier released an official statement to send nominations for the prestigious awards on or before 15 September.
Based on their contributions, 13 people have been nominated from Kerala for the prestigious awards. The results, per usual, will be announced on Republic Day 2016.
Padma Shri Mohanlal, jewellery owner Boby Chemmanur and many other celebrities did not find a spot in the nominations list this time.
