"Outlander" has finally found its Lord John Grey.

Australian actor David Berry will be essaying the role of the former British soldier who will be governing a Scottish prison. As fans of Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander" series of books already know, Jamie and Lord John Grey will strike up a friendship and the latter is going to play an important role in Jamie's life even after he is released from the prison.

The cast is currently busy filming Season 3 of the time-travel drama and it will pick up immediately after the events of the Season 2 finale that saw a pregnant Claire going through the stones back to the future.

Season 3 will detail her journey back to Jamie, who has changed a great deal following the Battle of Culloden. The third instalment of the series is based on Gabaldon's "Voyager" and it will see Jamie and Claire reuniting after a span of 20 years. But their reunion will not be a happy one as Claire will be unhappy to see her husband getting involved in illegal activities. She will also be deeply hurt when she comes to know that he had married Laoghaire, and her husband's complicated relationship with Lord John Grey isn't going to help matters much.

As those who have read "Voyager" know, Lord John Grey develops a romantic interest in Jamie and they even share a kiss.

The third season will also see a lot of action onboard a ship, something executive producer Ron Moore is looking forward to. The first two seasons of Outlander were really different from one another, and the third season is really different yet again," Moore was quoted as saying by Vanity Fair. "There's more 20th-century stuff . . . more stuff in Scotland. There's a big sea voyage in that book, which I'm really excited about, and it ends up in the Caribbean, in Jamaica. It's like a whole different show once again."

"Outlander" will return to Starz in 2017, but an exact date is yet to be announced.
