Claire and Jamie's relationship is going to be irrevocably altered in next week's episode of "Outlander" titled "Faith." The previous episode ended on a cliffhanger with Claire being brought to the hospital and the life of her unborn child at risk. The episode also saw Jamie being arrested and Jack Randall lying on the grass after being stabbed on his genitals.

Next week's episode titled "Faith" will reveal what's in store for all three characters, but readers of Diana Gabaldon's "Dragonfly in Amber" already know that Jamie and Claire's relationship has been changed forever from the events of the previous episode.

Warning: This post contains spoilers from Season 2 episode 7 of "Outlander."

If the television series follows its source material then Claire will give birth to a stillborn baby daughter named Faith. Claire spends a number of days in the hospital with no word from Jamie, and eventually Louise proves to be a true friend when she takes Claire to Fontainebleu to recover.

It is only later, after she has recovered from the grief of losing her child, that Claire learns that Jamie is arrested for dueling, and she proceeds to request the King to pardon Jamie. Claire is granted an audience with Louis, and he agrees to pardon Jamie if Claire uses her powers as La Dame Blanche to judge two men who have been accused of practising the dark arts. Claire must choose between Comte St Germain and Master Raymond, and she delares that St Germain is associated with a group called Les Disciples du Mal.

The episode will also see Claire having sexual intercourse with King Louis in return of Jamie being released.

The synopsis for next week's episode, according to Carter Matt, reads: "Claire is brought to L'Hopital Des Anges where doctors try to save her life and that of her unborn baby. King Louis asks Claire to judge two men accused of practising the dark arts – one an enemy, one a friend."

"Outlander" airs Saturdays on Starz. The series stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan as Claire and Jamie respectively.
