Chinese technology major, Oppo has launched a mid-range smartphone R1 in India.
The new 5.0-inch Oppo phone flaunts a slim uni-body design measuring just 7.1 mm and it boasts Aluminum-Magnesium alloy frame with anti-scratching and anti-explosion technology.
Under the hood, Oppo R1 ships with Android v4.2 Jelly Bean with custom ColorOS UI, 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core CPU, Mali-400 graphics engine,1GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage (no microSD card slot) and 2,410 mAh Li-Ion battery.
Other mentionable specifications include 8.0-megapixel Sony IMX179 processor camera with F2.0 aperture, BSI CMOS sensor and a feature-rich 5.0-megapixel 80-degree wide-angle front camera with blue glass filter to take good quality selfies.
Oppo R1 has been reportedly priced ₹26,990 in India and will be up against the recently released critically acclaimed Motorola Moto X, HTC Desire 700, Sony Xperia ZR, and older flagship phones like Lenovo Vibe X , Nokia Lumia 920 and Samsung Galaxy S3 whose prices have been dropped below sub-₹25,000 price-range.
In related news, Oppo is reportedly planning to launch the flagship Find 7 with 2K (2560x1440p) display in India in few months time. Other than high-resolution screen, the device also boasts Titanium-Aluminum alloy frame with five layers of thermal protective coating on back-side to withstand overheating, 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 series quad-core CPU, Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage (expandable up 128GB) and a high-capacity 3000 mAh (Li-Po) battery.
