Oppo to Launch Flagship Phablet N1 in India on 30 January

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo on Friday unveiled its latest smartphone N1 Mini in China.

The Oppo N1 Mini has been listed on the Chinese website; however the pricing of the handset is yet to be made official. The company said that a launch event of N1 Mini has been scheduled for 10 June and the shipment of the handset will start from 11 June.

Coming to the specifications of the handset, the N1 Mini will come with a 5-inch HD display and will use the Android OS version, with the company's Color OS skin on top. Other specifications of the smartphone include 13-megapixel swivel camera and 2140mAh battery. Although the exact details of the handset are not available yet, phone arena reported that the handset could be powered by an octa-core MediaTek CPU along with 1GB of RAM.

As of now it looks like the N1 Mini is purely the downsized version of Oppo N1, which made its debut last year. The company is expected to reveal the details on 10 June.

In India, earlier in May the company launched Oppo Joy budget smartphone at ₹8,990, which sports a 4.0-inch WVGA (480x800p) display and runs on the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS with custom ColorOS UI. Under the hood, it packs a dual-core MediaTek CPU, 512MB RAM, 4GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 32GB), 3.0-megapixel main camera (with LED flash), 0.3-megapixel (VGA) snapper on the front and 1700 mAh battery.

The bigger sibling of the lately announced N1 Mini, Oppo N1 is priced at ₹39,999 in India. The smartphone, which was unveiled in September 2013 in China, sports 5.9-inch full-HD IPS display and is powered by a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor paired with 2GB RAM.

The highlight of N1 is its rotating 13.0-megapixel camera with 206 degree rotation with dual-LED flash. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box .The phone is also offered with CyanogenMod variant, which is an alternative version of Android developed by Cyanogen Inc. On the connectivity front, the Oppo N1 supports USB OTG, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, NFC and 3G and it comes loaded with 3610mAh battery. It is offered in 16 and 32GB storage variants.
