Original story...

Oppo is all geared up to launch its latest selfie-centric smartphone, the F1s, in India on Aug. 3 at a lavish event in Mumbai's J.W. Marriott Sahar hotel. Oppo's launch event will be attended by hundreds of media members and a secret celebrity is expected as well. Considering the event's location, it is possible one of the Oppo's brand ambassadors from the Bollywood fraternity -- Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor -- could show up to promote the device.

Oppo F1s launch is expected to begin at 12:30 p.m. IST and by the looks of it there may not be any delays. On the sidelines of the F1s launch, Oppo is hinting at the handset's selfie capabilities. There have been leaks in the past that the F1s will sport a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with advance features for better selfies. It remains to be seen how far the rumours are true.

If Oppo's previous selfie smartphones, F1 and F1 Plus, are any indication, the F1s smartphone will be just as good. Other than the camera, the handset is likely to offer premium design and top-of-the-line specs to rope in more buyers for the new phone. International Business Times India will be covering the event from the venue to bring live updates of launch as and when it happens. Stay tuned.
