Chinese smartphone maker Oppo Electronics announced the launch of its entry level smartphone, Joy in Indonesia with a price tag of IDR 1,699,000.
Oppo Joy boasts a 4-inch WVGA IPS LCD screen with 800 x 480 pixels resolution and is powered by 1.3 GHz dual-core processor coupled with Mali 400 GPU and 512MB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean encrusted with Oppo's Color OS UI and features 4GB of internal memory, which is expandable by upto 32GB with micro SD. It houses a 3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera and 1700mAh battery.
The display of the phone comes with 'Glove Mode', which will allow the user to operate the handset with gloves. The handset supports connectivity features like 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS and is offered in Black and White colour variants, as reported by FoneArena.
As of now there is no word on the launch of the Joy smartphone in India, but reports suggest that Oppo's latest handset may find a market in the country.
Earlier in January, Oppo launched its N1 phablet in India at ₹39,999. It sports 5.9-inch full-HD IPS display and is powered by a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor paired with 2GB RAM. The notable feature of the smartphone is its rotating 13.0-megapixel camera with 206 degree rotation with dual-LED flash. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. Oppo N1 supports USB OTG, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, NFC and 3G and it comes loaded with 3610mAh battery. It is offered in 16 and 32GB storage variants.
