Indian Army in recent months has introduced several changes in its recruitment format. Now, one can apply for an army job online.

Earlier, the Indian Army used to hold open recruitment rally for which aspirants used to camp at the military base for days, but not anymore.

Indian army launched its new recruitment website (www.joinindianarmy.nic.in) on 16 June, where one can apply for Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Other Ranks (OR) entry.

"There will be no more open recruitment rally system and candidates have to apply online and will then be called for regular rally. Candidates can also check their eligilibility on the website," said Brigadier V.Rajamani, Deputy Director, General Recruiting (States).

In a press statement, announcing the dates for uploading the applications online, Rajamani said on Thursday, the army has also held "a detailed discussion with the Chief Secretary of Karnataka to help rural candidates to apply online through their machineries."

Rural candidates can visit Central Government/State Government "Kiosk" like the Central Government Common Service Centre (CSC), India Post (Post Offices) and IT Education Centres run by KEONICS of Government of Karnataka to apply online.

Candidates from Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Udupi, Chikmagaluru, Dakshin Kannada, Davangere, Bijapur, Dharwad, Haveri, Gadag and Bagalkot can upload their applications from 6 August. The selection rally will be held in Haveri on 6 October.
