OnePlus rolls out protection plans for OnePlus 2: How to get accidental, liquid damage protection?

OnePlus is following the footsteps of Apple and is bringing extensive care to its smartphones by offering extra warranty and protection. The Chinese smartphone maker introduced two new plans on Friday, B2X Protect and B2X Service by collaborating with B2X Service Solutions to add safety insurance to the company's latest flagship device, OnePlus 2.

In an official blog post explaining the two new insurance plans, OnePlus said B2X Service and B2X Protect will complete the "personal connect experience of buying a world-class device in the form of extended service offerings."

OnePlus 2 has received a great response from audience and critics, for the high-end specifications it offers at an affordable price point. Since customers are spending over Rs 20,000 on the company's latest flagship, protecting their valued devices becomes a priority. Since accidents tend to happen, OnePlus' new insurance plans will keep its customers at ease.

B2X Service and B2X Protect are paid insurance plans offered only to OnePlus 2 owners. These plans can be purchased exclusively from Amazon India within the first 10 days of buying a new OnePlus 2 device. After purchasing, it is necessary that customers activate their protect plans within seven days by registering at B2X Care. Failing to do so will void the insurance plans. These plans are not applicable for OnePlus One devices.

What is B2X Service and what does it offer?

OnePlus offers a standard one-year manufacturer's warranty from the date of purchase. With B2X Service, you can extend the warranty for another year to cover all defects that fall under manufacturer's warranty. B2X Service costs Rs 999 and automatically activates soon after the original manufacturer warranty on your OnePlus 2 expires.

What is B2X Protect and what does it offer?

B2X Protect is more like an accidental coverage for your OnePlus 2. Owners of the new device will get first year of complete accidental damage and liquid damage protection without spending a penny. The plan also covers free pick-up and drop off services. In simple words, anything that is not covered under the standard manufacturer's warranty will be taken care of under B2X Protect, including free coverage for damage during riots and strikes.
