OnePlus 3 has been a huge success and consumers and critics have held this device in high regard for its attractive design and top-of-the-line performance, which comes at an effective price. While the company is busy fulfilling the demands of the consumers of the latest flagship, it seems there is something else keeping OnePlus occupied behind the curtains.

According to the latest leak on the benchmarking website GFXBench, OnePlus is already working on a successor to its OnePlus 3 smartphone, but in a smaller package. The company is rumoured to launch OnePlus 3 Mini, but the exact release date is unknown at the moment. However, the GFXBench listing gives an early peek at the possible specifications of the device.

Going by the leaked specifications, the OnePlus 3 Mini will be compact, but won't compromise on the premium specs its elder sibling currently offers. OnePlus 3 Mini is expected to feature a 4.6-inch Full HD display, a quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, Adreno 530 GPU and 6GB of RAM.

In addition to that, the benchmarking site revealed that the unannounced device will feature 64GB onboard storage, 16-megapixel primary camera and an 8MP front snapper, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. This shows the company is offering an alternative option for those who wish for a smaller, compact device, which offers high-end flagship experience.

In a response statement to Tecake.in, OnePlus CEO Carl Pei denied the existence of any such device and even plans to launch it in the future. So we'd advice against taking these rumours too seriously. After all, the company is determined to not dig into cheaper smartphones and stick to premium flagship devices.
