Several rumours regarding Season 2 of highly popular anime series "One Punch Man" have been surfacing on internet for past few months since first season of the series was met with critical acclaim from fans and critics.
According to HNGN, one such rumour suggests that if the protagonist of the series, Saitama, fights another popular character of the series, Amai Mask, the storyline might deviate significantly from its manga counterpart.
Murata Yusuke, the creator of "One Punch Man" manga series, had previously confirmed that the second season of the anime series is already in its initial development phase. However, he didn't mention the exact date of the premiere.
Since Yusuke's announcement, fans have been eagerly waiting for the next season and are speculating what might be introduced in the story of the series. The immense success of Season 1 has undoubtedly raised the bar of the second season significantly.
One such speculation states that after fighting Lord Boros in Season 1 of "One Punch Man," Saitama will be now fighting with Rank 1 Class A hero Amai Mask, another renowned character from the manga series.
However, if it happens, "One Punch Man" Season 2 might deviate from the manga series and it might affect the popularity of the anime series significantly.
One of the major reasons behind the success of the anime version was that it stayed true to the manga. Many of the actions scenes in Season 1 of "One Punch Man" were exactly adapted from the manga frame-to-frame.
Hence, fans are unsure how it will turn up as Saitama has never fought Amai Mask in the manga and even though it sounds amazing, it might not generate the expected effect among the fans.
Though both Amai Mask and Saitama dislike each other in the manga series, it has never been so intense that they fight with each other because of the fact that Class A hero considers Saitama as a low ranking fighter.
Even though the success of "One Punch Man" Season 2 is inevitable, the creators of the series must take care of maintaining the quality of Season 1 and avoid any unnecessary move that might disappoint the fans.
