Priyanka Chopra marked Sridevi's birth anniversary by unveiling the first look at the cover of Empress: The Definitive Biography of Sridevi, an upcoming book on the late actor's life, career and legacy. Priyanka shared the cover on her Instagram Stories, offering an update on the biography authored by Dhiraj U. Kumarr and published by Westland Books.

The cover carries an endorsement from Amitabh Bachchan, who describes Sridevi as "The epitome of unmitigated talent". The book is listed as "coming soon". Sharing the cover, Priyanka wrote, "The one and only. You are so missed. Happy heavenly birthday #Sridevi #Empress....coming soon." Westland Books had announced the publication of Sridevi's official biography in 2023. The book is set to chronicle her journey in Indian cinema, including her illustrious career, personal journey and enduring legacy.

Meanwhile, Sridevi's younger daughter Khushi Kapoor also remembered her late mother on her 62nd birth anniversary on August 13 by sharing a throwback picture on social media. The childhood picture features Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, with a young Khushi standing between her parents and holding their hands. Khushi chose not to add a caption, letting the picture speak for itself.

Sridevi was born on August 13, 1963, and began her acting career as a child artist at the age of four with the 1967 Tamil film Kandhan Karunai. She made her first Bollywood appearance in the 1972 film Rani Mera Naam. Over the years, she went on to become one of the most celebrated actresses in Indian cinema, working across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films.

Sridevi dominated commercial Hindi cinema during the 1980s and 1990s, delivering memorable performances in films including Himmatwala, Mr India, Chandni, ChaalBaaz, Lamhe, Sadma and Nagina. She returned to Hindi cinema with English Vinglish in 2012 after a long break and later appeared in Mom in 2017, which was her final full-fledged film. Her performance in the film earned her the National Film Award for Best Actress posthumously.
