Onam is here, and Bengaluru is celebrating the Kerala harvest festival with an array of traditional Onam sadyas. From long-standing Kerala eateries to modern Indian restaurants and cloud kitchens, the city has plenty of options for those looking to enjoy the festive feast.
A Sadya is a traditional Kerala vegetarian meal served on a banana leaf, featuring an elaborate spread of curries, vegetables, pickles, chips, rice and payasams. This year, several restaurants across Bengaluru are putting their own spin on the festive meal while retaining its traditional flavours.
Here are five places to check out for an Onam Sadya in Bengaluru this year:
Kalpaney, Indiranagar and JP Nagar
Modern Indian vegetarian restaurant Kalpaney is offering a traditional Sadya served on a banana leaf. The 27-dish spread includes mezhukkupuratti, cabbage thoran, kaalan, olan, avial, koottu curry and erissery.
For dessert, diners can enjoy palada payasam and jaggery-flavoured parippu pradhaman.
The Sadya will be available for lunch and dinner on August 26, priced at ₹979 plus taxes.
Anju's Cafe, JP Nagar
Anju's Cafe, located inside Ranga Shankara theatre, has been serving its special Onam Sadya for around two decades. What began as a meal prepared for family and friends eventually became a public festive celebration.
The homestyle spread includes classics such as avial, kaalan, erissery and paalada payasam. The food is prepared in a centralised kitchen with help from the family, giving the Sadya a distinctly homemade touch.
The Sadya is priced at ₹1,500 and will be served on August 30 at 12 PM and 1:30 PM in JP Nagar.
Salt Mango Tree, Indiranagar
Salt Mango Tree has been a popular destination for Onam Sadyas in Bengaluru for years. The restaurant, which takes inspiration from Kerala culture, will serve a festive spread featuring avial, payasams, thoran and chips, accompanied by Kerala red rice.
Those who enjoy the sweet course can also order their payasams for takeaway.
The Sadya will be available from August 22 to August 30, between 11:30 AM and 4:30 PM.
Kappa Chakka Kandhari, Koramangala
Kappa Chakka Kandhari is another popular choice for Kerala cuisine in Bengaluru. Chef Regi Mathew's restaurant draws from extensive research into traditional Kerala cooking, with the team having travelled across the state and visited homes and toddy shops while documenting regional food traditions.
For Onam, the restaurant is serving a traditional spread featuring kootu kari, kaalan, sambar and olan. The much-loved ada pradhaman and palada payasam will also be part of the offering, with takeaway options available.
The Sadya is priced at ₹1,980 and will be available on August 25 and 26 at the Koramangala outlet.

Chef Sinu's Aakraantham Kitchen at Daak 64, Yelahanka
Chef Sinu Swaminathan's Kerala-specialty cloud kitchen Aakraantham is teaming up with Daak 64 at Jinvara, a community space in north Bengaluru, for an elaborate Onam Sadya.
The 30-dish spread includes traditional favourites as well as distinctive preparations such as ripe mango curry, banana flower thoran and banana stem pachadi. The dishes, including the chips, are prepared in small batches using coconut oil.
The Sadya is priced at ₹1,575 and will be served on August 26 from 12:30 PM onwards. Sadyas will also be available through Aakraantham's cloud kitchen.
With Bengaluru's restaurants offering everything from intimate homestyle meals to elaborate banana-leaf spreads, food lovers have plenty of ways to celebrate Onam 2026 with a traditional Kerala Sadya. Dates, timings and availability may vary, so checking with the restaurant before visiting is advisable.
