The auspicious festival of Onam, celebrated by people of all religions in Kerala, is just around the corner. The 10-day festival, which is known for its colourful rituals, will see a grand celebration on Thiruvonam day that falls on Wednesday, Sept. 14 this year.
Onam is considered to be a lucky time for the entertainment industry with many movies, including Mohanlal's "Oppam," Prithviraj Sukumaran's "Oozham," Kunchacko Boban's "Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho" and Dileep's "Welcome to Central Jail" released during the season. Apart from the theatre release, it is a time when many films make their worldwide television premiere on Malayalam channels.
As always, the popular entertainment channels like Mazhavil Manorama, Asianet, Surya TV and Flowers, have bagged the theatrical rights of the superhit movies of the year that will be screened on Uthradam (Sept. 13) and Thiruvonam (Sept. 14) days.
