
Shares of the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) slipped below their initial public offering (IPO) price on Monday in Mumbai, trading more than 6 percent lower than their peak value after debuting on Dalal Street.
In the morning session, NSE shares traded at Rs 1,767, marking a decline of over 1 percent compared to the previous close.
The stock hit an intraday low of Rs 1,761 around 10 am, down 1.34 percent from the IPO issue price and 6.23 percent below the peak of Rs 1,878 reached on the BSE.
On its listing day, NSE shares opened at Rs 1,800, which was above the final issue price of Rs 1,785, and scaled a high of Rs 1,878.
In the previous session, the stock slipped 0.56 percent, trading slightly above its listing price following the exchange's highly awaited market debut. It dropped nearly 1.6 percent to an intraday low of Rs 1,790 on the BSE and was last seen at Rs 1,808, down 0.56 percent.
Despite recent dips, NSE shares had listed at a premium of 0.8 percent to the issue price and closed their first trading session on Thursday with gains of over 1.8 percent.
The NSE IPO is India's second-largest public issue this year after Hyundai Motor India's Rs 27,870-crore offering.
Presently, NSE's market capitalisation post-listing stands at around Rs 4.49 lakh crore, ranking it as the 10th largest company in India and positioning it ahead of firms like Sun Pharmaceuticals and Titan.
The exchange's IPO was open for subscription from September 17 to September 21, receiving 5.71 times subscription.
NSE generates a large part of its revenue from transaction charges, which contributed 78.65 percent to its operating revenue in fiscal 2026.
