Sajad Gani Lone, the Peoples Conference Chairman is the BJP's ally in Kashmir and could very well be the next CM in J&KTwitter

Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Lone alleged on Wednesday that an IPS officer serving in J&K, a non-local, is summoning Superintendents Police (SPs) and various other officers at the behest of a political leader. Lone alleged that officers are being deliberately roped in, in the run-up to the State assembly elections, to favour political leaders and their parties.

Without naming the IPS officer, Lone said in Srinagar that if the officer wishes to join politics, he should go and contest elections in his own state but should desist from playing to the gallery and resorting to Machiavellian tactics.

He also said that he will be writing to the Election Commission of India and raise his concerns. Lone also welcomed Raja Aijaz Ali, a former IPS officer in the state and ex-Peoples Democratic Party leader, to his party.

"IPS officer of the rank of ADGP indulging in electoral politics. summoned Some SPs, DSPs deliberating how to script a wave for his fav leader. Will name him soon. But hope @PMOIndia @jandkgovernor @KVijayKumarIPS take note. give us an even play field. Is that too much to ask," Lone tweeted.

"If the said ADGP is so keen to enter politics let him go and fight in his own state. Don't the people of J & K deserve to choose their leader without these Machiavellian tactics. Aren't rigged elections the reason where we r today. Are their no lessons to be learnt. @PMOIndia 2/2," he added.

Sajad's aide and Srinagar Mayor, Junaid Mattu, meanwhile dismissed reports that former chief ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti will win big in the forthcoming elections. He said both the leaders are trying to save themselves from humiliating defeats.

Both Sajad and and Junaid were recently linked to the transfer of another non-local IPS officer who was heading the J&K Traffic Police department after the officer took a dig at the Srinagar Mayor for interfering the traffic issues which are not in his domain.
