Finnish handset maker Nokia announced that it would host an event next month, leading many to believe that the launch of Lumia 1520, aka Bandit, is not far away.

Nokia's tweeter feed said, "At Nokia, we never stop innovating. More to share on October 22" with hash tags- "#Nokia#innovationreinvented".

The tag 'we never stop innovating' hints that Nokia will bring something new to its portfolio of smartphones, probably the company's first ever phablet. Unlike rival Samsung, the Finnish company is yet to come up with 5.0-inch plus handsets.

According to reports, Lumia 1520 is expected to flaunt a 6.0-inch full HD 1920x1080p display with polycarbonate tough plastic case.

The rumoured phablet may also feature 2GB RAM, inbuilt memory of 32GB and run on the new Windows Phone 8 GDR (General Distribution Release) 3 OS update which is capable of a running quad-core processor. Almost all recently released high-end smartphones in the market pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series processor which can top a maximum CPU speed of 2.3GHz. Hence, one can also expect the upcoming Lumia 1520 to pack the same chipset.

Like all high-end Lumia series phones, the upcoming Lumia phone is also expected to ship with a superior camera having 20.8-megapixel resolutions on its rear side. Since Lumia 1520 is rumoured to come with a big screen, it might also feature a Stylus, like the one seen in Samsung's recently unveiled Galaxy Note 3.
