Microsoft's exclusive e-commerce affiliate Amazon India has reportedly begun taking orders for the newly launched Nokia Lumia 638.
Amazon took to its official Twitter handle Wednesday (17 December) to confirm the news. Nokia Lumia 638 is available for ₹8,299 in the exclusive Microsoft Store page on Amazon India . Select consumers stand to get free Airtel 4G Internet 5GB data bundle per month for two months in Bengaluru. Offer is valid till 31 March, 2015.

4G-LTE (Cat. 4): With 4G Category 4 certifications (bands include 3, 7, 38, 39, 40, and 41), users can download files with 150 mbps speed and upload files with 50mbps.
Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC: The new Nokia Lumia 638 ships with the Snapdragon 400 series quad-core CPU which can top maximum clock rate of 1.2GHz. It is one of the handful of budget handsets in the market to house the chipset manufactured by industry leader, Qualcomm. Most of the affordable smartphones in India pack MediaTek processors.
Windows Phone 8.1 OS with Lumia Cyan update (according to Microsoft India page):
The new OS brings the much needed – 'Action Center', similar to the Notification center found in Android devices. The new – 'Live Tiles'- an animation based feature of Windows Phone 8.1 enables the user to re-size application face on the home screen based on your priority and it will also show real-time updates whenever the home screen lights up.
That's not all. Microsoft's native app tiles are now transparent, enabling users to choose wallpapers as a background image. Users can also change the accent colour and switch between dark and light backgrounds. Only complaint among the Windows phone users is that Nokia's HERE maps and other service apps are still opaque, hurting the visual appeal of the home screen.
- Device Search: Thisis another value-added feature. If you need to find a specific email, contact, appointment, or even a song, just type in a keyword in the Bing search bar, and it will bring it to the home screen.
- Wi-Fi Sense: This automatically connects your Lumia to free Wi-Fi hotspots around the world and it even takes care of the cumbersome part of putting in your details for you.
- Word Flow: This intuitive feature lets user to glide over the letters on the smartphone keyboard and accurately predicts the words which is very helpful in texting messages fast.

[Note: Nokia Lumia 638 is also slated to get the new Lumia Denim update with Cortana, an intuitive digital voice-assistant similar to Siri and Google Now features seen in Apple iOS and Android devices, respectively.]
Microsoft Office apps: : One of the few perks of owning Microsoft OS based devices is that users will get free valued-added Office apps, which include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. These apps with the help of OneDrive cloud storage (15GB) will give seamless access to work documents in any Windows operable devices.
Price: Nokia Lumia 638 comes with a competitive price-tag of just ₹8,299, making it the cheapest 4G-LTE smartphone in the market.
