HMD Global's much-hyped flagship dubbed as the Nokia 9 is in news again with more information being leaked. It has now emerged that its score on a popular benchmarking site is higher than that of Apple's iPhone 7 Plus, Xiaomi Mi 6, Xperia XZ Premium and Huawei Mate 9.
The Finnish company is yet to announce the release date of the Nokia 9 but reports have claimed that it will happen either in July or August. It is expected to be launched along with the Nokia 7 and Nokia 8.

In what could entice Nokia fans around the globe, the upcoming next-generation device Nokia 9 has been listed as "HMD Global TA-1004" on the Geekbench site, with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor clocking at 1.90 GHz and running Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system. It is also seen with 4GB of RAM.
The Nokia 9's multi-core score on Geekbench is 7770, beating Xiaomi Mi 6 (Snapdragon 835) - 7598, Xperia XZ Premium (Snapdragon 835) - 7479, Huawei Mate 9 (Kirin 960) – 7290, and Galaxy S8 (Exynos 8895) – 7252, according to GSMArena.
However, Apple's iPhone 7 Plus (A10) scores more than Nokia 9 (Snapdragon 835) in single-core score with a total of 3526 points against 2255. The Xiaomi Mi 6 is in third position with 2233 points, followed by Xperia XZ Premium (2204), Huawei Mate 9 (2173), and Samsung Galaxy S8+ (2161).
It may be mentioned that the Nokia 9 is expected to come with some interesting features like IP68 water-and-dust resistant certification, a fingerprint scanner, an iris scanner, and an OZO audio. It is expected to have a 5.5-inch QHD OLED display with a 1,440x2,560 resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, an Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system, a 6GB RAM, a 64GB/128GB internal memory (with microSD card slot), a 22MP PDAF with Zeiss optics, a 12MP front-snapper, and a 3,800mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support.
The Nokia 9 is expected to come with a price tag of $700 / €750.
