Onscreen power couple Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder are continuing to struggle with their offscreen romantic issues.
The latest is in the line is Somerhalder's engagement with "Twilight" star Nikki Reed. Several reports have indicated that Dobrev is deeply hurt by the relationship update of her ex-beau.
"Nina is devastated over the engagement news. She can't believe this is all happening so fast," an insider told Hollywood Life. It also stated that the celeb never thought that her former love will be taking forward his new relationship so fast.
"She had a great time with Ian. The existence and the talk that they would possibly get back together was such a strain on her [and] hopes that people will stop talking about her and Ian," a source close to the celeb informed the publication.
Ever since their break-up in May 2013, Dobrev-Somerhalder fans are awaiting for their re-union news but they may not even see their favourite couple onscreen as long as the celebs might quit "The Vampire Diaries" any time soon.
A recent report on Celebdirtylaundry.com stated that Elena Gilbert of The CW's popular supernatural drama may quit the show after Somerhalder's marriage with Reed. However, the celebs and their representives are tight-lipped over the speculations.
Meanwhile, Somerhalder and Reed may share their wedding vows in June. "They're really excited. They mentioned a June [wedding] date," Mail Online quoted a source as saying.
