Google Inc. is yet to open up on its upcoming flagship smartphone dubbed as Nexus 6 aka Nexus X but hype around it is getting crazy with its release date rumoured to be getting closer. Now, reports are doing the rounds that the new device will have the looks of 2nd generation Moto X.

According to Expert Review, Motorola is likely to manufacture the Nexus 6 aka Nexus X, and going by the past trend, the Nexus handsets are based on the current flagship of the manufacturer, hinting that appearance of Google's new device could be similar to that of Moto X.

Interestingly, the Nexus 6 aka Nexus X is expected to sport a 5.2-inch screen like Moto X. However, Google's smartphone may have several superior features, including a 1440 x 2560 pixels (565 ppi pixel density) screen resolution compared to Moto X's 1080x1920 pixels (424 ppi pixel density), and more powerful processor.

According to reports that have surfaced so far, the Nexus 6 aka Nexus X may come with a curved LCD display and a lightweight, polycarbonate body, contradicting reports that it have look like 2nd generation Moto X.

The new Nexus handset is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with CPU speed close to 2.5GHz and a 13MP rear camera and 2.1MP front snapper with features like autofocus, optical image stabilization, and LED flash, according to Antutu benchmark listing. However, G4Games reported that the device might come with a Quad-core MT6732 64-bit chip that clocked at 1.5GHz, or the octa-core MT6752 SoC running at a frequency of 2.0GHz.

It is reported that the Nexus 6 aka Nexus X may come packed with 32GB internal memory and 3GB RAM and run on Android L, which is yet to be released. The device may be powered by a 3100 mAh Li-Polymer battery and feature sensors like Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer. In terms of connectivity, it may have Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and micro-USB connectivity slot.

Nobody is sure on the release date of Google's next-generation smartphone though Inferse website claimed that Motorola Shamu aka Nexus 6 would be unveiled on 31 October. The most reliable information on the device so far is Google Vice President, Sundar Pichai's revelation at the Mobile World Congress 2014 (MWC 2014) that the device would be announced in October. He didn't provide further details on the device, including release date but it is almost certain that it will see the light of the day in the 4th quarter of this year.
