Google Inc. hasn't revealed the release date of Google's upcoming smartphone dubbed as the Nexus 6 aka Nexus X but several reports have claimed that it would happen soon. While the device is expected to arrive by the end of this month, a source has hinted a late launch claiming that it could be pushed to November.

Android Police's founder Artem Russakovskii posted on Google+ on Wednesday that the Nexus 6 aka Nexus X should be launched by early November. He also claimed that Google might release the Nexus 9 (Volantis), Android L, Android Wear 2.0, and Android TV on 15 October. However, the post came with a disclaimer: "Always remember that plans are volatile and can change."

However, Inferse website had earlier reported that the device would be unveiled on 31 October. Google vice-president Sundar Pichai also said at the Mobile World Congress 2014 (MWC 2014) that the new device would be announced in October without mentioning the date. So, it is still not very sure if the device will be launched this month or push to November.

It may be mentioned that Google's first device from Nexus line was launched in January, while the Nexus 3 and the Nexus 4 were launched in November. However, the current flagship smartphone, Nexus 5 was released on 31 October, 2013.

The hype around the Nexus 6 aka Nexus X gained momentum with Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus being released into the market. Google's new device is expected to come with several feature upgrades over its predecessor, the Nexus 5 and give a tough competition to smartphones currently available in the market.

According to 9to5Google, the Nexus 6 aka Nexus X will have a 5.92-inch display with QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 (498 ppi), a 3,200 mAh battery and a 13 MP main camera and a 2 MP front snapper. It is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 805 processor, run on Android L OS, and come packed with 32 GB internal memory and 3GB of RAM.

The report by 9to5Google contradicts the details listed on Antutu benchmark that claimed that the Nexus 6 aka Nexus X might sport a 5.2-inch screen with 1440x2560p resolution (565 ppi pixel density) and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with CPU speed close to 2.5GHz. It added that the device might come packed with 3GB RAM and 13MP rear camera and 2.1MP front snapper.

There were also reports that Google's upcoming smartphone might have several interesting features, including a curved LCD, a lightweight polycarbonate body, and a 3100 mAh Li-Polymer battery. It may also boast of Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and micro-USB connectivity slot.
