What was meant to be the beginning of a new life turned into a horrific tragedy just hours after the wedding.
Newlywed Jesni Sam was travelling with her husband, Dave Fiji, a Delta pilot, in a helicopter after their wedding in Georgia when the aircraft crashed into trees. Dave and the helicopter's pilot were killed in the crash, while Jesni survived with severe injuries.
According to a new lawsuit filed by Robb & Robb LLC, Jesni remained trapped inside the wreckage for nearly six hours after the crash. The lawsuit alleges that her deceased husband's body was lying on top of her while she waited for rescuers to reach the crash site.
Jesni eventually survived the crash but sustained severe injuries. The lawsuit has brought renewed attention to the circumstances surrounding the crash and the ordeal she allegedly endured while trapped at the scene.
Robb & Robb LLC, the law firm representing Jesni, has previously represented Vanessa Bryant following the 2020 helicopter crash that killed her husband, NBA legend Kobe Bryant, and seven others.
The incident occurred shortly after Jesni and Dave had celebrated their wedding, turning what was supposed to be the start of their married life into a devastating tragedy.
