The transmission will be handled by a six-speed manual and automatic gearbox. The new Fortuner will be available in 4WD (four-wheel drive) and 2WD (two-wheel drive) formats.

As for the features, the SUV comes packed Bi-Xenon LED projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, Traction Control (TRC) system, electrically adjustable driver seat, Down Hill Assist Control system, cruise control and reverse parking camera.

The SUV will be manufactured at the company's plant in Karnataka and will be pitted against the Chevrolet Trailblazer, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Ford Endeavour.
