Directed by RT Nesan, "Jilla" is an action drama film in which Mohanlal and Vijay appear in father-son roles. The film is all set to hit the screens for Pongal this month.

The shooting of "Jilla" was completed some time back and the post-production work has been going on in full swing. The film's team released a small teaser on the occasion of the New Year, which showcased the bond shared between Vijay and Mohanlal. Now, they have come up with another teaser, showing the two actors taking on the baddies.

Fans are eagerly waiting to see "Jilla" as the film has two of the south India's biggest stars in lead roles. The film also has Kajal Aggarwal, Poornima Bhagyraj, Soori, Niveda Thomas and Mahat Raghavendra in pivotal roles.

"Jilla" has music composed by Imman of "Kumki" fame. There are eight tracks in the album including five numbers, one theme song and two karaoke tracks. Some of the industry's popular singers including SP balasubramaniyam, Shankar Mahadevan and Shreya Ghosal have crooned the songs in "Jilla." Vijay, who has sung a few numbers in his previous films, has rendered a melody track titled "Kandangi" with Shreya. The audio hit the stores on 21 December and the songs became instant hits.

The film's cinematography is handled by Ganesh Rajavelu, whereas editing is done by Don Max. Recently, the censor formalities for "Jilla" were completed and the film received a clean "U" from the censor board, which exempts it from paying entertainment tax.

The Vijay starrer is produced by RB Choudary under his Super Good Films banner. The film is all set to battle it out with Ajith's "Veeram", which is confirmed for a 10 January release. Both films are expected to take a massive opening on the first day of their release.
