Seems like there is a dearth of original songs and scripts in Bollywood; every new movie that is now coming has recreated tracks. If Bollywood songs were done and dusted with remakes, they have now tapped into Punjabi music. Bollywood's Punjabification needs to be studied and how. The first song, 'Roop Di Rani,' from the film Pati Patni Aur Woh Do starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rakul Preet Singh, was dropped on Wednesday.

Choreographed by Bosco-Martis, the song is originally written by Indeevar and composed by Rajesh Roshan. 'Roop Di Rani' is lifted from the 1982 song 'Kaali Teri Choti' from the 1990 film Bahaar Aane Tak. The new version is sung by Guru Randhawa and Heer and remixed by Tanishk Bagchi. The song is picturized on all the leads, Ayushmann, Rakul, Sara and Wamiqa.

In the song, the trio, along with Ayushmann, groove to a peppy number in golden and silver outfits. The lehengas are loud and very flashy. In fact, every female actor in the song is seen showing off their hips and legs. Netizens weren't happy with the remix of the song, as well as the outfits the lead cast wore.

Netizens react strongly

A user wrote, "Varunification of Ayushman.."

Another wrote, "The choreography is so off. They are wearing heavy lehengas; give them some nice, easy steps. Something that's also catchy. This choreography is not for these outfits. Sara's dancing has improved. Rakul is not good at all. Wamiqa has the best expressions! But I wish she was styled better. The colour is washing her out.

The third one mentioned, "Another punjabification bollywood song."

The fourth one wrote, "Where is the quality, the song directly jumps into its so-called chorus, no verse, no nothing, and even the transition between the latter verses and chorus is so robotic. Bland and pure random instruments, the music in movies is going downhill at high rate. It's sad.

Directed by Mudassar Aziz. The comedy entertainer will release in theatres on May 15. The film marks Ayushmann's maiden collaboration with Sara and Wamiqa.

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is a spiritual sequel to Pati Patni Aur Woh, which starred Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday in the lead roles.
