UPDATE: Nintendo officially announced during its Nintendo Direct that it is will be releasing the New Nintendo 3DS XL on 13 February, 2015 in the US. However, only the XL version will be released, priced at $200 in black or red colours.

Original Story:

Rumours suggest a leak in the release date for the new Nintendo 3DS handheld console. Nintendo is tight-lipped on the date of the new Nintendo 3DS release, though gamers want to know when the new handheld will be rolled out to the US.

The new 3DS has already been released to Japan, Australia and New Zealand in 2014. But the manufacturer has not announced any dates for the US or Europe.

GameStop reportedly leaked the US release date as 13 February 2015, and these came from the systems of the retailer. It has also been reported that the pre-orders might be rolling out starting tomorrow, but apart from that no other information.

A GameStop source, Gamnesia (via Attack of the Fanboy), said that the store has already received all the materials required for marketing display with its trade-in deals.

The other question troubling gamers is if there will be any new games for the new Nintendo 3DS. When the console was released in Japan, there was no new games that got released. However, rumours have suggested that the new console might get The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D and Monster Hunter 4 in February for Europe. It is likely to be part of the bundle.

It is likely that Nintendo could announce the dates shortly or this could be a mistake in the GameStop system that was not noticed by them.
