New Moto G aka G2 Sale at Flipkart on 6 September in India; Price, Sale Time Details

American technology giant, Motorola officially pulled the wraps off the company's flagship smartphone Moto G (Gen 2.) in New Delhi.

The new Moto G comes with modest upgrade over the predecessor in terms of outlook and some bump in couple of key specifications.

Besides the big 5.0-inch display, the second generation device has also under-gone some cosmetic change. The company has placed dual -speakers on the front-side (top and bottom), similar to Moto E.

Only other difference between the two siblings is that the successor comes with a bump in camera specifications. It boasts 8.0-megapixel camera on the rear side and 2.0-megapixel snapper on the front side with HD video recording ability.

The company has confirmed that the new Moto G (16GB) will go for sale today 00:00 am midnight (technically on 6 September) for ₹12,999. But, it has not officially revealed how much units will be up for grabs. Motorola's exclusive sales partner, Flipkart has also annouced launch day offers such as vouchers and discounts on accessories of the new Moto G.

According to the recent report, more than 70,000 Moto G2 units have already been shipped to India, so if Flipkart goes on to sell all these models tonight, we believe it won't be enough to match the demand and is expected witness the repeat of virtual stampede seen during Xiaomi smartphones.

It has to be noted that Motorola was the first tier-1 brand to start the online-only retailing strategy in India. The first generation Moto G which got released in February this year got sold out in less than 15 minutes.

Beside the new Moto G, the company today also unveiled the new Moto X and the much awaited Moto 360. Both the devices are said to hit stores this month in India. However, the price details are still under wraps.
