Mahindra on Thursday launched the facelift of its popular off-roader Thar in India at a price tag of Rs 8.03 lakh (ex-showroom Nashik, for Thar CRDe).

The new Thar, which gets a makeover both inside and outside, will be available across Mahindra dealerships in selected markets soon.

On the exterior front, the new Thar CRDe gets improved front and rear bumpers with lens headlamp, muscular wheel arches and re-designed side footsteps.

The cabin of Thar now comes with dual-tone dashboard and features new steering wheel and door trims with arm rests, re-designed AC vents, new floor console with cup holders, windshield demister, new gear knob and lockable glove box.

Under the hood, Thar gets 2500cc CRDe engine with the same output as before, 105bhp@3800 rpm and a torque of 274Nm from as low as 1800-2000 rpm. It gets the standard 4WD system with high and low ratios.

"Increasingly consumers are looking for a different lifestyle as they seek an adventure and fun experience and the Thar is the perfect companion for such thrill seekers," Shah added.
