Japanese automobile-maker Honda is reportedly set to bring the new Accord in India during the festive season, with probable launch date in October. Emerging reports suggest that some of the dealers of Honda have started accepting bookings for the new Accord in the country.

The dealers of Honda in Delhi have opened the bookings for the soon-to-be-launched Accord for a down-payment of Rs. 51,000, reports Zigwheels. The car is expected to get a price tag starting at Rs. 20 lakh. Honda had hinted at the arrival of the new Accord in the Indian market when the company showcased the model at the Auto Expo 2016 in February.

Honda Accord is expected to be launched in the hybrid avatar as well as the non-hybrid versions. The new Accord will rival Toyota Camry, Skoda Superb and the upcoming Volkswagen Passat.

The new Accord gets reworked front fascia with new headlight and grille, and the interiors sport a 7-inch touchscreen. It features taillight clusters with LED tech and tweaked rear bumper. The new Accord rides on 19-inch alloy wheels.

The ninth generation of the Accord in hybrid avatar is powered by 2.0-litre Atkinson Cycle i-VTEC four-cylinder engine coupled with two electric motors. It is mated to an E-CVT transmission and a 1.3 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. The combined output of the unit stands at 213bhp and it returns an overall fuel efficiency of 23.8kmpl. The Accord in its regular form is expected to be offered with a 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder engine in India with 6-speed manual gearbox and a CVT.
