German luxury carmaker Audi has unveiled a new version of the A5 and S5 Coupe on Thursday (June 2) globally. The Ingolstadt-based carmaker has given an evolving design to the couple siblings in the latest avatar. The Coupe features long engine hood, stretched wheelbase and short overhangs that add sportiness. The face of the car features large single-frame grille, which is significantly flatter and wider than in the previous model. The A5 and S5 also flaunt LED rear lights and optional LED or Matrix LED headlights with dynamic turn signals.

The Audi A5 will be offered in five different engines -- two TFSI and three TDI units. The power output for these engines varies from 187bhp to 281bhp. Audi claims the reworked engines offer up to 17 percent more performance and 22 percent better fuel efficiency. The S5 gets a newly developed 3.0 TFSI six-cylinder engine that develops 347bhp. All the A5 engines are mated to manual six-speed manual or seven-speed S tronic gearbox while S5 employs eight-speed tiptronic. The S5 also sprints 0-100kmph in just 4.7 seconds.

The interior of the A5 and S5 benefits from the increased dimensions and longer wheelbase. Optional ambient lighting highlights the interior with a choice of 30 adjustable shades. The A5 Coupe is now available for the first time with the optional Audi virtual cockpit with a 12.3-inch TFT display. The Coupe offers 465-litres of boot space and the weight of the car has come down by 60kg with use of aluminium and high-strength steels.
