Taiwanese consumer electronics major Asus today (21 January) released a new Zenfone 5 series smartphone model in India.

The company took to official social networking site Facebook to confirm the launch of the new device.

The new Asus Zenfone 5 variant boasts of almost identical specifications seen in the older model sans one key feature. It houses 1.2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 Processor with Intel Hyper Threading Technology. Whereas the old model packs 1.6GHz duad-core Intel Atom CPU.

Price and Availability:

Asus Zenfone 5 (A501CG) with dual-core SoC (black and white models) has been made exclusively available at Flipkart for ₹7,999.

Competition:

With the launch of new phone, Asus fans will three Zenfone 5 series devices to choose with prices ranging from ₹7,999 to ₹9,999. [Scroll down for information on all three models]

All Zenfone 5 models will be competing against Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Motorola Moto E, Moto G (Gen 1), Microsoft Lumia 535, Lumia 638, Micromax Canvas Turbo and other domestic brands.
