Social networking sites have become an integral part of people's lives nowadays and it played an important role in tracing and rescuing people post the recent Nepal earthquake, which killed more than 4,000 people.
Many took to Twitter and Facebook to trace and rescue the victims of the natural disaster.
A new Twitter handle, @MEAcontrolroom, was opened to receive assistance regarding Indians stranded in Nepal.
Foreign minister Sushma Swaraj, who has been quite active on Twitter, helped in tracing many missing people in Nepal. (For details, check the above slide show)
Almost all news websites actively updated the situation in Nepal via their Twitter handles.
Meanwhile, many have been sharing details about their missing family members and friends in Nepal through a number of Facebook pages, including, Missing people in Earthquake Nepal, Missing people in Earthquake 15 Nepal, Nepal Earthquake Missing People, Nepal Earthquake Missing People and NEPAL Earthquake Missing People, among many others.
