The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the NEET UG 2026 Re-Examination results, ending the wait for lakhs of medical aspirants across the country. Candidates who appeared for the re-test can now download their scorecards from the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, using their application number and password.

The results were announced shortly after the NTA released the final answer key for the examination, paving the way for admissions to more than 1.36 lakh MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate medical seats across India. In a post on X, the agency confirmed, "The NEET-UG 2026 Final Answer Key has been released. Visit the official portal to check the Final Answer Key."

This year's examination saw Aryan Gupta of Punjab and Panshul Bansal of Haryana emerge as the joint All India Rank (AIR) 1 holders after securing 715 out of 720 marks. Along with the results, the NTA has also released the merit list, category-wise qualifying data and score distribution.

According to the official data, over 11.21 lakh candidates have qualified for undergraduate medical admissions this year. A total of 138 candidates scored above 690 marks, underlining the highly competitive nature of the examination. Notably, more than 58 per cent of the qualified candidates are women, highlighting strong female representation among successful aspirants.

More than 22 lakh candidates register for the NEET UG examination every year. This year's re-examination was conducted on June 21 after the original May 3 exam was cancelled due to irregularities. Ahead of the results, the NTA had released scanned copies of candidates' OMR sheets and opened a window for challenges. Students were required to pay Rs 200 per challenge, which would be refunded if their objection was accepted. The challenge window for the OMR responses closed on Wednesday, while the provisional answer key objection window had closed on June 28.

Earlier this month, the NTA also initiated the NEET UG 2026 fee refund process, asking eligible candidates to update their bank account details on the official portal.

The agency credited the successful conduct of the re-examination to a massive whole-of-government effort, involving around seven lakh officials, including police personnel, observers and examination staff. In a post on X, the NTA thanked everyone involved, saying, "Team NTA. Team Bharat. One exam, delivered together." It also acknowledged experts from academic institutions across the country for helping prepare multiple sets of question papers and highlighted the special arrangements made for nearly 10,000 differently-abled candidates.
