Mumbai, Jan 30 (ANI): Workers and leaders of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) held a silent protest on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary on Friday against those who glorified his murderer, Nathuram Godse. Gandhi was born on October 02, 1869 in Porbandar in Gujarat. On January 30, 1948, he was shot dead by a Hindu fanatic, Nathuram Godse, less than a year after India gained its freedom. On Friday, the party members observed silence, remembering Gandhi. NCP leader Nawab Malik said the NCP would not keep silent on the conspiracy to dilute the ideologies of father of the nation. Gandhi's ideologies still continue to be imbibed the world over. His statues can be found across the country and nearly every town has at least one street named after him.
