Busy bee Nayantara seems to be on a roll. The actress, who has a few big films in her kitty, has reportedly bagged one more project. The buzz is that she has been offered to play female lead in the Telugu version of "Kaththi," starring Megastar Chiranjeevi.

Behindwoods reports that Nayantara might romance Chiranjeevi in "Kaththi" remake. The actress, who has worked with almost all the big names of Tollywood, has not paired up with Chiru till date and this project could probably fulfil her fans' long-time dream of seeing the duo on-screen. In the original version, Samantha had played the female lead.

Nayantara is the most sought-after actress in South India. In the last 12 months, she has delivered a series of hits like "Bhaskar the Rascal," "Thani Oruvan," "Maya" and "Naanum Rowdydhaan."

Her upcoming movies are Simbu-starrer "Idhu Namma Aalu," Karthi's "Kaashmora," Vikram's "Iru Mugan," Telugu movie "Babu Bangaram," starring Venkatesh and a few others.

Coming to the Telugu version of "Kaththi," it is directed by VV Vinayak and produced by Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Teja. The director is presently working on the script and reportedly making changes to the original story to suit the tastes of the local audience. The Tollywood movie is likely to take off in the last week of March.

It is a special movie for Telugu audience as it is the comeback flick of Chiranjeevi after nine years. He was last seen on-screen in "Shankar Dada Zindabad."

"Kaththi" starred Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Samantha and Neil Nitin Mukesh in lead roles. Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, AR Murugadoss had written and directed the Tamil movie.

The story of "Kaththi" deals with the plight of farmers and the powerful nexus of media, politicians and businessmen. How a petty thief takes on the powerful establishment forms the crux of the story.

"Kaththi" is also being remade in Hindi with Akshay Kumar in the lead role.
