The winners of the 61st National Film Awards were announced at the National Media Centre, New Delhi, on Wednesday (16 April).

Anand Gandhi's "Ship of Theseus" has won the national award for best feature film. Rajkumar Rao has won the best actor award for "Shahid," whereas Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramudu has also bagged the award for his role in "Perariyathavar." Films such as "Jolly LLB" and "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" have also won national awards under different categories.

Best Actor (Female) - Geetanjali Thapa of "Liar's Dice" (Hindi)

Best Kannada film: "December 1"

Best Bengali film: "Bakita Byaktigato"

Best Assamese film: "Ajeyo"

Best Konkani film: "Baga Beach"

Best Marathi film: "Aajcha Diwas Majha"

Nargis Dutt Award for best film on National Intergration: Balu Mahendra's "Thalaimuraigal" (Tamil)

Indira Gandhi Award for best debut film of a director: "Fandry" (Marathi)

Best film on social issues: "Tuhya Dharma Koncha" (Marathi)

Best film on environment conservation/preservation: "Perariyathavar" (Malayalam)

Best children's film: "Kaphal" (Hindi)

Best editing: V.J. Sabu Joseph ("Vallinam" - Tamil)

Best child artiste award - Sadhana ("Thangameengal") and Somnath Avghade "Fandry" (Marathi)

National Award for sound design: Bishwadeep Chatterjee, "Madras Café"

Best choreography - Ganesh Aacharya, "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag"

Best cinematography: Rajeev Ravi ("Liar's Dice")

Best lyrics: Na Muthukumar ("Thangameengal" - Tamil)

Best make up artiste: Jaatishwar (Bengali)

Best costume designer: Jaatishwar (Bengali)

Special Jury award: "Yellow" (Marathi) and "Miss Lovely" (Hindi) 

Best director (non-feature) - Pranjal Dua ("Chidiya Udh")
