
In the ongoing 100-day campaign to liberate Jammu and Kashmir from the yoke of the menace of narcotics, enforcement agencies have launched an aggressive crackdown on drug trafficking networks.
The Police Department's operations under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act have resulted in extensive action against drug traffickers and peddlers across Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the official spokesperson, the campaign, which launched on April 11, registered 850 FIRs under NDPS-related offenses, arrested 942 persons, apprehended 293 drug peddlers, and 49 drug hotspots for focused intervention.
Enforcement agencies have also intensified financial investigations into narcotics syndicates by targeting illegally acquired assets linked to drug trafficking.

As of date, 55 properties belonging to drug traffickers have been sealed or demolished, while 71 immovable properties worth approximately ₹4,632.17 lakh have been seized or attached. In addition, 34 immovable properties valued at around ₹1,648.50 lakh have been demolished, and 42 movable properties worth approximately ₹214.93 lakh have been seized or attached.
The campaign has also targeted regulatory violations and logistical support systems associated with narcotics trafficking. As part of these efforts, 414 driver's licenses were suspended or cancelled, 13 vehicle registration certificates (RCs) were cancelled, 118 drugstore licenses were suspended, and two drugstore licenses were cancelled. Besides, 1,285 Aadhaar cancellation applications were processed, while 119 passport impoundment applications were initiated.

Enforcement agencies have achieved significant success in narcotics recovery operations during the campaign. A total of 6,416.070 grams and 8,019 milligrams of heroin, 47,206 grams and 871 milligrams of charas, and 251,697 grams and 1,116 milligrams of ganja have been seized so far.
Moreover, 22,474 tablets were seized, 65 kilograms of poppy plants were destroyed, and 47 kanals of poppy cultivation were eradicated. These recoveries and destruction operations have dealt a major blow to narcotics supply chains operating in the region.

The ongoing anti-drug campaign, 'Nasha Mukt JK Abhiyaan', has recorded remarkable achievements and impact across awareness generation, rehabilitation, law enforcement, treatment, surveillance, and prevention initiatives, reflecting an unprecedented whole-of-government approach to combating the menace of substance abuse in Jammu and Kashmir.
As of today, the campaign has mobilised lakhs of citizens, strengthened institutional response mechanisms, intensified anti-narcotics operations, and expanded rehabilitation support systems across the Union Territory.
Under the 'Drug-Free J&K: 100-Day Campaign', massive public outreach and awareness drives are being conducted across the length and breadth of Jammu and Kashmir.
As part of the extensive awareness and outreach programme, authorities have conducted an extraordinary 16,37,484 awareness events across Jammu and Kashmir, with public participation exceeding one crore people, indicating widespread community engagement and growing public support for the anti-drug movement.
The outreach programmes included mega padyatras, roadshows, school and college campaigns, village-level awareness drives, signature campaigns, community meetings, youth engagement activities, sports events, cultural programmes, seminars, counselling sessions, and social media advocacy initiatives aimed at sensitising society to the dangers of drug addiction.

Under the campaign, mental health and counselling support services have also been strengthened. Through the Tele-MANAS and Counselling Support Initiative, around 3,572 calls were received from individuals seeking psychological support, counselling, and guidance related to mental health and substance abuse issues. The strengthening of accessible counselling services has become a critical pillar of the administration's strategy to ensure early intervention and emotional support for vulnerable individuals and families affected by addiction.
Treatment and rehabilitation services have also been expanded across Jammu and Kashmir. Addiction Treatment Facilities (ATFs) operated by the Health Department reported substantial patient engagement during the campaign period. A total of 58,603 patients visited treatment facilities, of whom 58,138 availed OPD services, while 465 patients received intensive inpatient (IPD) care. Additionally, 192 patients were successfully treated and discharged.
