South Indian actress and All India Congress Committee spokeswoman Khushboo Sundar was in Kerala to inaugurate an anti-fascist convention organised by the Kerala Students' Union in Kozhikode on Tuesday, 15 December.

During the event, she said Indian Prime Minister Narendra is a better actor than superstars Kamal Haasan, Mammootty or Mohanlal. She claimed Modi keeps on promising, but always fails to fulfil them.

She also added that instead on doing his work, the prime minister was more interested in sending birthday wishes to people in some countries via Twitter.

Kushboo also took a dig at Modi for keeping silent whenever he is expected to speak on important matters, and reminded people Modi had earlier called former prime minister Manmohan Singh "Maun-Mohan" for remaining silent on key issues.

She said Modi had remained silent on the Dadri lynching issue in Uttar Pradesh.

She even claimed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gives more importance to Nathuram Godse than Mahatma Gandhi.

Kushboo also criticised SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan for claiming the government helped the auto-rickshaw driver Naushad's family only because he was a Muslim. He died while trying to help two migrant labourers from a manhole in Kozhikode recently.

Kushboo also said Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was insulted as he was not invited for the statue-unveiling function of R Shankar in Kollam.

The actress also said she believed the Congress would return to power after the Assembly elections in 2019.
