New Delhi, Jan 13 (ANI): Inaugurating the annual conference of State Minorities Commissions on Monday Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, said that Muslims in certain parts of the country do not enjoy a fair share of development as compared to other communities that have done reasonably well. Focussing on the needs of the minority communities, the Prime Minister said that it is the responsibility of the state to take care of them. Taking a note of the institutions that deal with the minorities in the country, Singh said that National Commission for Minorities and State Minorities Commissions must continue to play a proactive role and strengthen the hands of the government by recommending suitable measures for improving the socio-economic condition of minorities.
