The new teaser of upcoming flick "Munnariyippu" featuring Mammootty and Aparna Gopinath is released. The film is directed by cinematographer turned director Venu.

The teaser shows Anjali, played by Aparna Gopinath who is thinking about Raghavan's (Mammootty) words.

"What are visible in our national symbol are three lions that are turned away from each other. But there is a fourth lion at the back of the symbol which is invisible. The fourth lion represents truth and none tries to find out the truth. Sathyameva Jayathe", says the teaser as Raghavan's revelation

"Munnariyippu", which was initially scheduled to release in mid-June was postponed for unknown reasons. The film is now expected to hit theatres on 22 August.

Aparna Gopinath and Mammootty have earlier worked together in the film "Gangster" (2014), but the film was a disaster in the box office.

"Munnariyippu" revolves around the life of an ex-convict Raghavan who leads a lone life. Anjali is a journalist who is on a task to write about the protagonist and his life. On her frequent meeting with him, she tends to understand more on his life and this slowly changes attitudes toward her life. The film also talks about Anjali's struggles to present the truth behind Raghavan's life who was sent to jail for no reason of his.

The other cast of the film includes Nedumudi Venu, Prathap Pothan, Renji Panicker, Joy Mathew, Sreeraman, Sudheesh and Saiju Kurup.

The screenplay of "Munnariyippu" is written by R Unni. The trailers and the poster of the movie had given the notion that it is an art film. However, Unni clarified later that it is not a slow-paced art film, but a suspense thriller meant for all categories of audience.

The story and the cinematography of the film are done by Venu himself. Venu's first directorial venture was "Daya" (1998) written by MT Vasudevan Nair. The film is edited by Bina Paul and the music is composed by Bijipal. Jyothish Shankar is the art director while the costumes are designed by Siji Thomas.

The film is produced by Ranjith under the banner of Gold Coin Motion Pictures.
