Mumbai has been witnessing massive showers for quite some time, which has caused several areas in the Maximum City to become inundated. People living in low-lying areas in the city have been affected the most, and the situation is expected to worsen by the high tide, as and when it comes in.

Unable to venture outside, or ruing the decision having done so, Mumbaikars poured out their woes on social media. Some of them, however, chose to keep the tone of their messages light, making for really interesting reading on a Friday afternoon.

Levity seemed to be the reining theme, as can be seen here:

However, those who had been forced to leave the comfort of their homes were clearly in no light mood:

While some chose to crib, others saluted the people who personified the undying, unfettering spirit of Mumbai.

Others pointed out the failures of the authorities. Again.

And finally, there were those who had probably resigned to their fate or were otherwise unburdened, and chose to enjoy the beauty of the showers.
