
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, along with his ex-wife Kiran Rao and their children Ira Khan, Junaid Khan and Azad Rao Khan, as well as his son-in-law Nupur Shikhare, participated in the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2026. Apart from Aamir and his family, producer Anand Pandit also ran the marathon, while Sri Sri Ravishankar flagged off the event from the CSMT booth.

Aamir, Kiran, Ira and Azad took part in the Dream Run of 5.9 kilometres, Junaid ran the 10 km race, and Nupur participated in the full marathon.

While talking to the media at the event, Aamir said, "Jo excitement humne dekha people with disabilities ke run mein aur senior citizens ke run mein, toh ab mujhe bhi laga ke har saal aana chahiye. Bahot kamal ka spirit hai Mumbai ka (The excitement we saw in the people with disabilities and senior citizens' races makes me want to come every year. Mumbai has an amazing spirit)."

Aamir Khan says his daughter Ira forced him to participate in the Mumbai Marathon
When Aamir was asked why he decided to participate in the Mumbai Marathon, the actor said, "Actually, maine nahi socha. Meri beti ne mujhe force kiya. Sirf isne hum logo ko prerna di hai (Actually, I didn't think about it. My daughter forced me to. She inspired all of us)."

Talking about his fitness mantra, Aamir Khan said, "You are what you eat. So, diet is very important. Ab kya khate hain woh bahot important hai. 8 ghanta sona bahot important hai health ke liye aur uske baad aata hai workout (You are what you eat. So, diet is very important. What you eat matters a lot. Sleeping for eight hours is very important for health, and after that comes workout)."
Junaid participated in the 10 km race at the Tata Mumbai Marathon and completed it in 1 hour, 10 minutes and 14 seconds.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also expressed his passion for the prestigious event while underlining the importance of fitness among India's youth. Taking part in the Mumbai Half Marathon, Abdullah described the experience as a long-cherished dream finally fulfilled.
Speaking on the sidelines of the marathon, Omar Abdullah said he had heard about the Mumbai Marathon for many years and was delighted to finally participate. "I have heard about the Mumbai Marathon for a long time. I am participating in the Mumbai Half Marathon. The youth should prioritise health and avoid spending too much time on smartphones. We should participate in sports and exercise daily," Abdullah said.
