A speeding Audi rammed into a police barricade in Mumbai's Marine Drive, injuring five people including police men, on Friday morning.

The grey Audi hit the cops, who were carrying out regular security checks near Police Gymkhana, after crashing into the barricade.

"The incident happened at 1 am. They hit the divider first. Later, the car also hit the policemen. I saw four people inside the car, but no one was injured. They were immediately caught by the police. I don't think they were drunk," eyewitness Mohammed Salim told NDTV.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.

Of the five injured, four received head and chest injuries while the civilian escaped with minor injuries.

Police have arrested the driver, identified as Dinesh Khandekar, and have sent his blood samples for alcohol testing.
