American telecommunication giant Motorola has announced to reveal details of its mid-range smartphone Moto G in India next month.
The company confirmed the news via official social platform Twitter. It said, "Moto G launch details for India will be announced on February 5. Stay tuned!"
According to recent reports, Motorola would sell Moto G initially through online retailers and network carriers in India. The company's plan to sell the smartphone in brick-and-mortar stores was put on hold as the discussion with regional distribution partners - Redington and Ingram Micro, has failed.
Flipkart has been confirmed to be one of the official online partners to retail Moto G, but it is yet to ascertain whether it will have the sole distribution rights, reported BGR. There is a possibility that Motorola's parent company Google may chip in to retail the Moto G via 'Play Store'. The search engine giant already sells Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 devices in the sub-continent.
The mid-range Motorola Moto G smartphone flaunts a 4.5-inch HD (1270x720p) LCD screen with 329 ppi (pixels per inch) pixel density. The phone is confirmed to ship with the dual-SIM slots and run on the new KitKat v4.4 OS out-of-the box in India.
Under the hood, Moto G packs Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 series quad-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 8G/16GB, 5.0-megapixel main camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera and 2,070mAh battery.
