Lenovo has finally unveiled its much-awaited Motorola Moto Z2 Play after months of speculation. It is an impressive device with good features but it will have to compete with some of the best devices currently available in the market.
There are flagships like Samsung Galaxy S8, Xiaomi Mi 6 and HTC U 11 that have already been either released or unveiled and there are more devices like Apple iPhone 8, Nokia 9, OnePlus 5 and Galaxy Note 8 that are expected to be released in the next seven months. The just announced Moto Z2 Play will take on these devices; it is unavoidable but going by their pricing (expected), its main rivals will be the Nokia 9 and OnePlus 5.
The Moto Z2 Play is priced at Brazilian Real 1,999 (around $615/€548/Rs.39,594), while the Nokia 9 is expected to come with a price tag of $700 / €750, and the OnePlus 5 could be available for $499 in its home country China and $688 in the rest of the world. This has indicated that the handsets will take on each other in the market.
The OnePlus 5 is expected to be unveiled on June 15 (not confirmed) while the Nokia 9 could come a little later, perhaps in July.
The Moto Z2 Play sports an all-metal body with ultra-slim design, measures 156.2x76.2x5.99 mm in dimension and weighs 145g. The device also has a 12MP main camera with f/1.7 aperture, Laser Autofocus (up to 5 metres), 1.4µm pixel size, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), Color Correlated Temperature (CCT) dual LED flash, professional mode and auto night mode, a 5MP front camera with ƒ/2.2 aperture, Wide-Angle lens, 1.4µm pixel size, Color Correlated Temperature (CCT) dual LED flash, Auto Night mode, Beautification software and Professional mode, and a 3,000mAh battery with TurboPower charging.
